Robert Zandvliet: 63 x 72

In the exhibition Robert Zandvliet: 63 x 72 at Galerie Knoell from November 23rd, 2019 to February 8th, 2020, the Dutch artist Robert Zandvliet (born 1970 in Terband) shows his artistic work for the first time again in a representative solo exhibition in Switzerland.The focus of his painting lays on landscape - very much in the sense of the Dutch tradition within art history - though he enriches his paintings with new colourful or compositional impulses.
Robert Zandvliet repeatedly varies classical, almost archetypal landscape motifs from art history. His paintings are characterised by a remarkable painterly and gestural strenght that has become increasingly articulated in recent years.
