Owsky Kobalt

Owsky Kobalt was born in Basel in 1937. She is known for her work as a sculptor. Owsky Kobalt lived in a house built by herself right next to the quarry. During her lifetime she travelled all over Europe, visiting quarries in the search of blocks of stone she could take back to her studio to work with. When this was not possible she stayed at the quarry and worked on the stone right there. For months she would live out of a rented caravan, to be able to complete a work.
