Antonio Calderara

Galerie Knoell presents an exhibition of works by Antonio Calderara. These delicate and sophisticated works show a great sensitivity and occupy a firmly significant position in his œuvre. The transparency and consistency of the colours, their pigments and the small-scale papers, which surfacing light structure and texture becomes visible beneath the light colours. All these aspects enable the development and appraisal of ideas of form, colour and image concepts. These interconnected elements – light, space and colour – thereby work as a visually perceptible references to reality in the work of Antonio Calderara. But also for the development of his graphic works, the preparatory phase in form of watercolours was immensely important.
